Description:

Monitor-750S is the latest innovation to large format material handling and pre-feeding. Comprising of a simple but effective drum lift and drive system with the capability to handle up to 300kg (loaded weight) wooden or plastic material drums. Monitor-750S can be configured to suit your application and product delivery requirements.

As with all Pro-Tec products, Monitor-750S has a modern sleek look, is built strong, and provides reliable performance in the production environment. All of the machines operating functions and controls are focused on the 4.3inch touch screen providing an intuitive and easy to understand, state of the art pre-feeder operator interface with dynamic graphics and integrated LED indication system to display current machine operation, status, and settings.

Careful but positive material handling is important to all cable and wire processing production lines, so with Monitor-750S the drive system is based around a 4-wheel drive servo assembly that applies itself automatically to the drum outer flanges. On material demand the acceleration and braking functions are controlled accurately to ensure the drum rotation is in sync with the material demand.

The base machine is the heart of the operation, with an easy load / unload function. Monitor-750S rotates the drum using polyurethane coated drive wheels applied to the drum flanges ensuring positive drive and easy rotation from the integrated servo motor system. Safety for the operator is our prime concern, so in addition to the usual guarding and interlocks, Monitor-750S locks the drum into position during operation – if the air pressure fails when the guard is opened the drum will not lower and cause injury.

Currently we offer two material sensing systems ROLLER or OPTICAL. It is possible to configure Monitor-750S with either or both, and swap from wire and cable processing to flexible tubing etc. using the touch screen HMI. You can add either sensing system at a later date if your application changes.

Configuration:

Monitor-750S base machine –

The base machine is floor mounted and has a wide access door to allow for loading / unloading of cable drums. Once the drum is in place and the door is closed an innovative “auto-load” feature can be selected – this will automatically lift the drum into position and apply the drive system ready for production.

Choose your factory configured demand sensing system, and whether you require material run out detection and machine integration or not. The feed direction can be changed by the operator during the unloading process to put back any unused material on to the drum.

Roller or Optical material sensor system –

• The optional roller detection system provides a large reservoir of material within the three sets of nylon rollers.

The top rollers are fixed in position at an easily accessible height, while the bottom rollers glide vertically as the material is drawn by the downstream machine. Height sensing is obtained by a precision draw wire sensor. The operating range of the lower roller set is calibrated through the touch screen HMI system, so the amount of material in the reservoir at any one time can be controlled. As demand from the downstream machine is detected, the Mnoitor-750S effortlessly refills the wire reservoir by rotating the material drum maintaining a constant feed and constant material tension for accurate processing lengths.

• The new optical sensor is a vertical tower array of five retro reflective industrial grade photosensors. With a material handling capacity of 4 – 60mm OD, the optical tower is the best solution for sensing demand on large diameter cable, tubing and harness protection sleeving.

Each of the five sensors can be adjusted for position and the corresponding feed speed can be set for each sensor in the touch screen HMI of the Monitor-750S base system.
